Weaving ourselves whole
I believe that we’ve come to this earth to heal. I believe that healing is one of the greatest forces of nature, and that at its root, the force of healing is always calling to us, shape-shifting us, and inviting us to learn and grow as a soul.
Healing is deeply innate in our Earth and in ourselves. Everywhere you look you find healing.
It is the force that mends the wound on your skin. It is the force that drives dandelions up through the cracks of pavement. It is the force that both pours lava across the lands to reshape them, and the seeds of greenery that begin to repopulate that land again. It is also the force of longing that is pressing at you from within to step more fully into who you know yourself to be.
By definition, at its root, healing means to make whole. And I would add, it is a remembrance of our innate wholeness that always exists.
Regardless of how something is broken, forgotten, or separated, the process of healing is almost always a slow and intentional one.
Stitch by stitch, we mend something back together. Breath by breath, we remember to come back into relationship with a part of us we’ve discarded. And through this process of repair, what has been broken or separated weaves itself back to wholeness again. Remembers its true form.

And as with any healing, the wisdom of the break or damage weaves itself into the new shape or form. For we never go back to how things were initially. This can be hard for some to accept, but it is in the breaking and the mending that wisdom is born.
The cycle of fracture and repair
I remember having a powerful experience of my heart breaking in grief.
Maybe you’ve felt this too? I could feel something in my chest literally breaking open energetically so that the magnitude of grief could pour through. And after the flood of emotion had settled, the amount of love and peace I felt was astounding. The capacity of my heart had stretched wider, only because it had broken.
I love the metaphor of the pottery repair method in Japan known as kintsugi, where broken pieces of pottery are lacquered together with gold or silver.
The pottery wears their stories of breaking and mending proudly, demonstrating the true alchemy that can happen through healing. The wisdom and beauty of our soul’s expression that can be embodied when healing is done with intention and care.
New levels of wisdom and beauty and expression that are only possible because of the break itself.

Healing is remembering. Remembering the wholeness that exists within each of us before the stories of brokenness and separation came in and caused us to forget who we were. Caused us to fracture internally and leave behind core pieces of ourselves and our truth. The trauma, the life experience, what it was we were taught or sold to make us believe we were not good enough.
And as we embark on the healing journey, we come together more fully, more wise, more alchemized with the golden threads of our truth than we could have possibly known before the fragmentation.
So healing is a remembering more complete, and filled with a level of more understanding, than could have been accessed before the separation.
Witnessing and remembering Oneness
In his book, Conversations with God, Neale Walsch receives the understanding that we all exist as an aspect of God or Universal Consciousness. The great Oneness wanted to know themself. They couldn’t know themself by staying in wholeness, because who is the witness when everything is One? So they needed to fracture themself in order to witness themself. Break apart, in order to see and know themself more fully.
There is a recognition that each of the broken pieces contains the blueprint of the whole, and yet the forgetting of this Oneness is crucial in order for God Consciousness to experience and embody their various expressions.
From this viewpoint, we can see that we are each a broken off piece of God consciousness. An individual soul learning and growing and experiencing itself in relation to the whole, and ultimately, remembering ourselves back into wholeness.

If you believe this story, you could say our whole experience on this Earth is one of healing. Our purpose is to heal. Our purpose is to remember, to make whole again.
You can also see from this story that the breaking itself isn’t a bad thing. It’s necessary in order to gain more wisdom and understanding.
Even though we’ve separated off from the whole, there is nothing inherently broken about us. Just an illusion of forgetting that we begin to peel away, layer by layer, to reveal what’s always been inside.
The force of life is constantly dying and being born again. Constantly breaking and changing and reimagining itself. So are we. And all of this is in service to Healing. In service to Spirit. In service to Life.
