Old wounds resurfacing? Why collective liberation requires inner healing

Nearly every one of my sessions the past 2 weeks has carried a particular immensity to them.

There has been so much big, old stuff moving through and releasing from people’s bodies. Stuff that’s been buried so long and so deep that the energy feels incredibly resurrective.

Some of what I’ve witnessed hasn’t been touched or acknowledged since childhood. Some of what has come up and out has never before been named or known. There have been stories that felt so shameful, folks couldn’t bear to speak them out loud. Until now.

It requires an immense amount of energy to keep these feelings down under the surface, sequestered in the shadow realm. So much energy. Even if things seem ok on the outside, the feelings within will never stay quiet for long.

What's happening to the collective in this moment

It’s not a coincidence that all of this deeper inner healing is happening alongside the collective upheaval right now.

The collective rumbling, and quaking of emotion and feeling, has activated a volcanic flow from within us, calling forth a great purge of what we don’t, and frankly cannot, hold onto any longer.

This time calls for clear vessels. This time calls for us to resonate more purely with our truth. And we cannot do this in integrity while our old, buried stuff is still roaming about within.

It creates discord in our energy field. We cannot run as much energy through our system, we cannot live into our highest calling for these times if we don’t face the fierce dragons inside (most of which turn out to be deeply scared, lonely, or sad young parts of ourselves).

A woman lays on her stomach in the grass, peering down at her refection in a circular mirror. Water covers the surface of the mirror, and the woman reaches out to touch her reflected self, causing ripples in the water.

This is absolutely part of this moment of collective liberation.

Shedding the burdens we’ve been carrying so we can show up more fully for this time.

Meeting ourselves in our tenderness so we have capacity to meet others there as well.

Lightening our burdens and density so we can hold prayer for the new world that’s being built as the old crumbles.

Healing the inner wounded ones so we don’t perpetuate oppression, control, and fear-based thinking in our visions and actions.

Every single person who has touched into their pain, grief, loneliness, or shame these past couple weeks was able to feel a sense of spaciousness and relief in the aftermath.

The more that we let our emotions move through us, and the more we are courageous enough to share our feelings of guilt or shame, the more we have access to our full power, our joy, our pleasure, our peace, our liberation.

Our liberation comes from being able to go into those places within us and meet them. The places we’ve been scared to face.

So my love, it’s time to meet yourself. I promise, it’s never quite as scary as you fear. Be with yourself in these tender places, or give someone the gift of sharing what you’ve been holding alone, corralling off to the hidden places in you.

It’s an honor to see you. And what a gift for those places within you to finally be seen.
