Reclaim your power using the chakras

It’s sometimes easier to give our power away to other people because then we don’t have to think too hard, and we don’t have to take responsibility for the impact of our choices.

Someone else can tell us what we need to do, how we need to live, what’s ok and what’s not ok. We can be lazy in our thought and discernment because someone else is doing it for us.

This is rampant in our world today. We see it in religions, yes, but also in politics, also in science. When there’s an “in crowd” or a philosophical stance you assume, and there’s a precedent for how that group acts, then it’s basically a machine that operates itself, with little questioning.

This, of course, happens in the spiritual world too. Which is why we see so many gurus who abuse power, and cults emerging every day born out of spiritual communities.

When we aren’t grounded in our embodied knowing, and trust in our own desires as a compass, it’s much easier to give our spiritual discernment over to others, including our spirit guides.

I often hear “my guides told me do this…” or “they/she/he would be disappointed or angry so I’m not going to say what I need to say or do what I want to do…” or “this is how so-and-so-teacher does it, or what so-and-so said is best…”

We get to pass off the responsibility of our decisions to the spirit plane or teacher, so if something goes wrong, we can’t be to blame. Or we make excuses for not choosing our path or facing our fears (which are simply edges of our growth and expansion) by hiding behind the guise of protecting or caring for someone.

A woman with short gray hair and brown skin touches one hand to heart, one to the earth, while walking in a forest of yellow leaves.

Gosh, this has been a hard one for me over my life. And for so many “people pleasers” in recovery. For so many sensitive people, it’s hard to really claim our power.

And while of course it’s important to honor the guidance from the more-than-human world, and while of course it’s important to consider others, ultimately we are the ones who get to choose and discern what actions we take that further us in our expansion as souls. Choices that call us into the most alive and full expression of ourselves. And I truly believe that if it’s for your highest good, it’s for the good of all. (Writing this as much for myself as I am for you).

What I’ve found for myself, and for the hundreds of people I’ve worked with now, is that the more we anchor in our first 3 chakras (the root, the sacral, and the solar plexus), the more we root into our power here in the material world:

  • When you understand the power of your root chakra, you know your place here on the Earth. You feel a sense of home and belonging in your body.

  • When you reclaim the power of your sacral chakra you trust what moves you. You trust in your pleasure and the desire that emerges from the inside out. This is what magnetizes you to the life of your choosing, and moves you in the direction of your soul’s longings.

  • When you heal your solar plexus you have the will to act towards your goals. You have the courage to take risks to follow your dreams, you claim the space here that’s meant for you.

And when all three of these chakras are consciously reclaimed you have a solid sense of who you are, and your belonging here. You’re able to discern what feels like true desire and direction from your own soul versus what others want or say you need to do. You’re much less likely to give your power away, because you trust yourself.

Golden Stone Immersion

Reclaiming our power from the forces of distortion is what we do in the Golden Stone Immersion. We excavate the outdated stories, reclaim specific types of power through each of the chakras, and reweave ourselves back into the Oceanic Power of the Earth.

This re-harmonizes our inner terrain. We deepen our relationship with the Earth body again. And we become more fully ourselves. More fully alive, pulsing with The Magic of Life.
